The truth is, I can’t always rest. Not just at night, but during the day too. Especially the day before I have to go to the Cancer Center. It is exhausting physically and emotionally. At night, I toss and turn from side to side, searching for a spot that gives comfort, lets me sink in, and fits just right.
Somewhere between the tossing and turning, we whisper, “Lord, please help me get to sleep“.
Scripture: Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”
Reflection:
In a world that constantly urges us to do more, move faster, and achieve greater things, God extends a different invitation: Be still. Stillness is not inactivity—it is an act of trust. It is choosing to quiet your heart long enough to recognize that God is already at work. In His presence, weary souls find rest, anxious minds discover peace, and troubled hearts receive renewed strength. Before you rush into the next task or the next challenge, pause. Breathe deeply. Remember that God is with you. His presence is your refuge, His peace is your strength, and His love is your constant foundation.
Affirmation:
I will rest in God’s presence, trusting that He is my peace, my strength, and my unfailing refuge.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me into Your presence. Quiet my mind, calm my spirit, and help me rest in the assurance that You are in control. When life becomes busy or burdensome, remind me to pause and seek You first. Fill me with Your peace, renew my strength, and guide me with Your wisdom. May I leave Your presence refreshed, encouraged, and ready to serve You with joy. Amen.
Blessing
May the peace of God surround you today like a gentle river. May His presence quiet every fear, strengthen every weakness, and renew every weary place within your soul. As you rest in Him, may you rise with fresh courage, steadfast faith, and joyful confidence, knowing that the Lord is with you wherever you go. Amen.
